1. Mix the First 3 Ingredients

Combine your cream cheese, ranch dressing dish and minced onions in one mixing bowl. Stir until finely mixed.

2. Spread over Mixture

Evenly spread the mixture over the 4 tortilla wrappers.

3. Sprinkle Primary Fillings

Next, sprinkle over the cream cheese mixture the red bell pepper, celery, black olives and cheddar cheese equally on all 4 wrappers.

4. Place over the Secondary Fillings

4a. Salami Filling

Apply the first secondary filling on the 2 prepared wraps. To start off, sprinkle the sun-dried tomatoes first, and then place the 5 salami slices on each wrap.

Then finish it off with the fresh basil leaves distributed on top of the salami.

4b. Turkey Filling

On the other two tortilla wrappers, we will sprinkle the shredded carrots and the spinach leaves.

After that, we will place the turkey slices on the very top as the last filling.

5. Roll Tightly and Refrigerate

Roll the tortilla wrapper around the filling real tight and then wrap with a foil to keep its form together. Then refrigerate for about 2 hours or overnight to perfectly set it up.

6. Slice into Wheels

For about a few hours before the summer party, remove the foil and start cutting. Start by cutting the ends first, and then continue slicing into medium sliced wheels.

7. Pin Toothpicks and Serve

Pin over the toothpicks on each wheel and they are ready to be served!

Tips:

  1. Before starting to spread the cream cheese mixture, microwave them for about 30 seconds to prevent them from tearing easily.
  2. You can use tomato relish, ranch dip or guacamole as dips to your party pinwheel appetizers.

Here is a video by Allrecipes, showing us this attractive and yummy summer party food recipe in action:

These pinwheel appetizers can be served in just about any setting. I can already visualize bringing them for a family picnic or serving it at a beach party. Even bringing them during a tent out on a campfire gathering, this dish will still be feasible.

This is also a tricky way to get the kids to eat the healthy foods. The soured cream, cheese, and meat will be masking the taste of the greens, like the spinach. It is a smart and healthy summer party food addition indeed, which also serves as a great decoration for the buffet table too.
