Chocoholics alert! Here’s an exciting new way to enjoy your dessert before the main course 🙂
Every kid in us have chocolate cravings and from time to time we tend to ignore the main course of the meal and get right down to the dessert, well here’s an excuse for our guilty pleasures….Chocolate cookie lasagna. As we all know, there are tons of chocolate recipes posted on the internet but unfortunately most of them are not as simple and innovative as the delicious creations from MamaMittens recipes.
Let’s go to chocolate heaven by following the instructions below…
Ingredients:
- 36 regular OREO’s (chocolate cookies)
- 6 Tablespoons (melted) butter
- 1 (8 oz) package of cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 Tablespoons cold milk
- 1 (12 oz) container Cool Whip (whipped cream)
- 2 (3.9 oz) pkg’s. chocolate instant pudding
- 3 1/4 cups cold milk
- 1/2 cup mini (semi-sweet) chocolate chips
Instructions:
Step 1
Crush OREO’s in a blender (or in a zip lock bag with a rolling pin) and put in a lightly buttered mixing bowl.
Step 2
Add melted butter to the crushed Oreo’s and mix until combined.
Step 3
Press OREO mixture into the bottom of the dish and chill in the refrigerator for 5 minutes.
Step 4
In a medium sized bowl, whip the cream cheese until fluffy. Add 2 Tablespoons of milk and sugar, mix until combined. Stir in 1 cup Cool Whip then gently spread the mixture over the Oreo crust. Place in the fridge for another 5 minutes.
Step 5
In a separate bowl, combine the chocolate pudding and cold milk. Whisk together until thick then spread over the top of the cream cheese layer. Place back in the fridge for another 5-10 minutes to allow pudding to set.
Step 6
Once pudding has set, spread remaining Cool Whip on the chocolate layer and then top with chocolate chips. Place in the fridge for 3-4 hours before serving. . This recipe is definitely a must-try for all you chocolate lovers out there. Enjoy!
For best results, prepare this scrumptious dessert ahead of time since it needs at least 3 hours in the fridge to set before serving. This is a very simple recipe for everyone but timing is the essence for it to be a success.
