I love cookouts, and summer is the best season to take advantage of this style of cooking. Excited to start the fire and take the first bite? Well, first thing’s first!

Safety is one of my top most priority in the kitchen, and the bar raises when cooking out. Let me share with you the 5 basic ways of grilling safety to keep fire away from your homes.

How To Practice Safety When Grilling This Summer in 5 Simple Steps

With grilling slowly becoming a family weekend tradition, I have decided to search, not only grilled recipes, but also safety measures to ensure that no accidents will happen during cookout. Thus, knowing grilling safety tips is truly vital.

A happy child is a safe child, as what my mother once said. So to keep them both happy and have full tummies, keep them from getting burned or catching fire. It is very essential to make your whole family aware of the safety measures when grilling, so read on!

Properly Clean And Maintain Your Grill

Leaks or hose breaks are the leading factors contributing to gas-fueled grill fires.

Keep The Grill At A Safe Distance From The House And From Other Flammable Objects.

Nearly 30% of home grilling fires start on a balcony/patio.

Only Use Lighter Fluid To Start A Charcoal Grill And Not As An Accelerant.

Gasoline or lighter fluid is a factor in almost 1/4 of the charcoal grill burns seen in ER’s.

 

Keep Kids And Pets Away From The Hot Grill.

Maintain a safe zone of at least 3 feet around grilling area.

Extinguish A Charcoal Grill By Closing The Lid.

It is always important to be ready in order to avoid real disasters from happening and nothing scares me more than placing my family in danger.
