Quick + Easy Tips on Grilling Salmon on a Cedar Plank
Grilling Salmon Made Easy and Super Delicious on a Cedar Plank
My excitement builds up when summer and fishing season come because I get to make delicious fish recipes in the kitchen! What I love about grilling salmon on a cedar plank is its enticing aroma plus it’s so easy to prepare. Also, it saves us from dealing with black grill marks.
My husband and I share the same interests with fish as one of our main favorite foods. And since it’s our first kiss anniversary this weekend–it’s kind of a thing for us–I am giving him a romantic dinner as a gift. As much as I would want to be as extravagant as celebrities with gift giving, all I can spare him is my cooking that involves much, much love. 🙂
Anyhow, let’s start grillin’!
Ingredients
- 1 pc of Cedar Plank
- 1 slice of Salmon, big
- 1/2 cup of Olive oil
- 1/2 tsp of Pepper
- 1/2 tsp of Seasalt
- 1 tsp of Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp of Parsley
- 1/2 tsp of Dry Mustard
- Lemon Juice, 1 pc of Lemon freshly squeezed
Tips
- Make sure that you use untreated grilling planks to avoid chemicals from mixing with your food.
- You can soak the plank with any kind of wine or with water.
- It is best if you use a liquid that is a bit warm or at the room temperature so that it gets well absorbed by the plank.
- Keep a spray of water with you just in case your plank catches fire.
- Remove your fish from the grill when it starts flaking because it’s a sign that it is already well done.
Procedure
1. Soak plank
Soak the cedar plank in wine for 1 hour before you start grilling.
2. Marinate fish
Brush your olive oil over the surface and rub the rest of the ingredients on your salmon. Then set aside for an hour.
3. Grill plank
Grill the plank for about 3 minutes on each side at 350 ºF.
4. Put fish on plank
Place your salmon on your warm plank and grill.
5. Grill fish and serve
Grill for around 15 to 20 minutes at 350 ºF heat. Serve and enjoy!
