Letting my kids eat healthy foods will always be my lifetime goal. But when we host sleepovers and prepare their brunch, I tend to lean more on sweets and pastries for help. But not anymore! I found this delicious set of brunch menus that are creatively put together. They are sweet, fruity, cheesy and fun to prepare, too!
Rock Your Kids’ Sleepover Parties by Cooking Healthy Brunch Menus
Let Them Wake Up to Citrusy and Cheesy Pieces of Sunshine with 5 Nutritious Brunch Menus
Food preparation during sleepovers has always been a challenge for me whenever my kids and their friends are having one. I have no problems with dinner since they always request for pasta and I have my famous Bacon Ranch and Pickle Pasta Salad to answer to that.
Even their hamburger snacks are already in the bag. It’s brunch that I’m worried about. How do you prepare brunch to a group of six and seven-year-olds? Sweets – big yes! Veggie dishes – a bit difficult. But when I found these brunch menus that are both sweet and healthy, I suddenly saw the light. It’s got juicy salads, cheesy goodness and more.
Are you ready? Well, first we need to prepare beforehand a loaf of bread and set that aside for the morning after. Now, we’re ready!
For your bread spread…
Menu #1 Jam Butter
What you will need:
- 1 stick of Butter
- 2 tbsp of Jam
How to make:
Just whisk and serve!
You can use a fork or a whisk when you mix the butter and jam together. Make sure that they are well combined, and then serve.
For your appetizer…
Menu #2 Mixed Greens with Sliced Almonds, Strawberries, and Orange with Honey Lime Vinaigrette
What you will need:
A. For the salad
- 6 – 8 cups of Mixed Greens or Leafy Vegetables
- 1 cup of Strawberries, sliced
- 1 large of Orange, cut into segments
- ¼ cup of Almonds, slivered
B. For the dressing
- ¼ cup of Lime Juice, freshly squeezed
- 2 tbsp of Olive Oil
- 2 tbsp of Honey
- Salt and Pepper
How to make:
1. Prepare the salad
Simply arrange all salad ingredients inside a big bowl according to this order from bottom to top: mixed greens, strawberries, oranges, and almonds.
2. Prepare the dressing
Mix lime juice, olive oil, honey, salt and pepper in a small cup or bowl.
3. Whisk, pour over salad and serve
Whisk all of the dressing ingredients and then pour it over the salad right before you start your brunch. Serve and enjoy!
Menu #3 Citrus with Pomegranate and Mint Salad
What you will need:
- 1 pc of Blood Orange
- 1 pc of Grapefruit, large
- 2 pcs of Oranges
- ¼ cup Pomegranate Seeds, soaked in water
- 2 stems of Mint Leaves, fresh
How to prepare:
1. Peel and slice
Peel the oranges by slicing the outer covering off and then cut them into wheels.
2. Sprinkle and serve
Just sprinkle the seeds on the oranges and top them with mint leaves. Serve and enjoy!
For the main course…
Menu #4 Ham and Swiss Strata
What you will need:
- 1 tbsp of Butter or Oil
- 1 loaf of a day old Crusty Bread
- 8 slices of Deli Ham, chopped
- 3-4 of Green Onions, finely chopped
- 12 oz of Gruyere Cheese, grated
- 12 of Eggs
- ½ cup of Milk
- ½ cup of Cream
- Salt and Pepper
How to prepare:
1. Preheat oven and cut bread
Preheat your oven to 350 °F and then cut your crusty bread into 1-inch cubes.
2. Grease baking dish
Prepare your large baking dish with a small amount of either butter or oil.
3. Make filling
In a large bowl or measuring cup, whisk your eggs, milk, cream, salt, and pepper together.
4. Arrange remaining ingredients in baking pan
4.a Lay down the first batch of layers
Spread your bread, ham, green onion, and cheese over the pan to make the first batch.
4.b Then the second batch
Repeat the same order of ingredients in making the second batch of layers.
5. Sprinkle and pour
Top your last layer batch with lots and lots of cheese. Then pour in the filling mixture.
6. Bake and serve
Bake it at 350°F for about an hour, and then serve while hot.
And for dessert…
Menu #5 Yogurt Parfaits
What you will need to make one cup:
- ½ cup of Vanilla Greek Yogurt
- 1 tbsp of Jam
- ¼ cup of Granola
How to prepare:
1. Place inside a zip bag and cut
You will need 2 to 3 bags. One for your yogurt, one for the first jam flavor, and the third bag for your other jam flavor. Cut the tip of the zip bag.
2. Squeeze and layer
Squeeze out the content of the zip bag into each cup. First, you squeeze in the yogurt, followed by a layer of jam.
3. Sprinkle and serve
Sprinkle the granola on top and serve.

The best thing with these brunch menus is that they are easy to make. A mix of sweet and sour flavors that are found in fruit jams play a big part in two of the recipes. For the healthy part, the citrusy sweet dishes fit in perfectly as both appetizer and dessert. While the main course is a very creamy and cheesy bread recipe, they won’t get enough of it! The dishes are all so colorful and attractive, you get yourself full just by looking at them.
