Make The Perfect Side Dish With Delicious Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes
Cheesy scalloped potatoes make a great side dish to any dinner. This can be made ahead of time and held in the refrigerator overnight. This is absolutely delicious with the cheese, but you can also leave the cheese out if you prefer the traditional style scalloped potatoes.
A tasty combination of potatoes, cheese, butter, onions, flour and simple instructions to cook will surely make your day. Here is a cool video on how to make your own cheesy scalloped potatoes and discover how easy it is for you to cook this tasty recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1kg thinly sliced potatoes
- 40g butter
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 litre of milk
- Pinch of nutmeg
- ½ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- Shredded tasty cheddar cheese
- Freshly chopped chives
Instructions:
Step 1.
Melt the butter and add the flour, then give it a good mix. Pour in the milk, a pinch of nutmeg and the pepper. Add the salt, then throw in the cheese, then stir through until it’s all combined.
Step 2.
Put a thin layer of the sauce, then a layer of potatoes. Add another layer of sauce followed by another layer of potatoes.
Step 3.
Add the last layer of sauce and the remaining cheese.
Step 4.
Sprinkle the chives, then cover with foil.
Step 5.
Put in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius and cook for 35 minutes. Remove the foil, then cook for another 15 minutes until it’s golden brown.
So that’s how to make a tasty cheesy version of the traditional scalloped potato recipes. This is absolutely delicious with the cheese, but of course, if you want to make the traditional style scalloped potatoes, leave out the cheese and chives. Give it a go!
